About Tony

Tony Young is a 24 year old Masters student at the University of Waterloo in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. He recently graduated from the Bachelor of Computing specialization in Software Design in the School of Computing at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada.

For his Masters program, Tony will be studying with the Database Research Group in UW's School of Computer Science. Tony will be generating a network cost model for use in query optimization for federated database systems.

Tony is a fun-loving person who loves to work hard and play hard. Tony has been known to consume a few beers on friday night, and work on schoolwork long into saturday night. You could say that he burns the candle at both ends. Tony can often be found volunteering his time with local organizations and campus groups.

Among other things, Tony enjoys camping, swimming, hiking, canoeing, scuba diving, natural photography, and videography. Tony also enjoys tearing up the slopes of Ontario and Quebec's premier skiing destinations.

Tony has been employed with Sybase iAnywhere, the Queen's University Alma Mater Society as Database Administrator, the Queen's University Arts and Science Undergraduate Society as Computer Portfolio Manager for ASUS Camps, and as Database Developer for Kingston General Hospital's Infection Control Unit.
